Project 12 – March 2012

I can’t believe I have managed to finish my March page of Project 12 on time. Phew!! I am really enjoying the challenge of using my 365 photos that I have taken every day. I’m still finding it difficult to write about the month, and I’m certainly learning along the way.

The original sketch for March 2010 was:

This month I am proud to use a couple of stamps which I hadn’t used before and which I already had in my stash. I also used the happy birthday embellishment from one of my birthday cards. Hope you don’t mind Aunty Jen, it was too cute to throw away. I also enjoyed sewing onto the page.

Another month over and already I’m looking forward to the next. April will cover Easter and BTCC at Donington, so there will be lots of fun and action. I can’t wait.  x

General Scrapbook Pages

Over the last couple of months I have managed to catch up with some scrapbook pages that I have had planned for a while…. I hope you like them…..

Project 12 – February 2012

I’m a little behind, but still pleased to have completed my second Project 12 double page.
It was action packed this month, with a heavy snowfall at the start, with a holiday to Disneyland Paris, and the month ended with very foggy days.

The original sketch was from February 2012

I lived the number of photos and small squares and circules in this original sketch.
Here is my finished page:

Was pleased with the final page, although I may add a few more emblishments at the months go on. I’ve also tried to add more journalling this month.

Not sure why the pictures have turned around (will try and sort this out).
Thanks to Liz for the mickey die-cuts and spotty paper!

I’m looking forward to the March page already.

NEC Hobby Craft Show – 24th March 2012

We had been waiting 3 months and the day finally arrived for the ICF Hobbycraft Show at the NEC in Birmingham.

Sister and Sister-in-law (Clare & Liz) arrived as the doors opened at 9.30am. We enjoyed browsing the stalls, having a giggle and catching up with our news.

Enjoying a Coffee
Off we go Clare, Liz and (Neice) Grace
Lots and lots of People
Chekcking out the Stands.
We went home via the Beefeater Restaurant for a well deserved tea.
After all this new Inspiration, all I need now is a little bit of time to finish off some of my projects and start some new ones. Thanks for a good day Liz & Clare.

Button Heart Picture

9th March 2012 – Button Picture Frame

I’ve recently joined pinterest, and saw this lovely button heart picture on notonthehighstreet.com .

I knew my mum had stored a few buttons….

These buttons have been collected by my mum and gran over many years and it was great sorting through them. Clare (my little sister) decided to join me making our own craft pictures and we are really pleased with our results…

My finished picture (next to a photo of mum) can be seen here. It’s not the best photo in the world but I am so pleased that I wanted to share my finished picture.

After moving the picture around a little I have decided to swap the large black button on the right  as I didn’t feel it was balanced in the picture. Here’s my final picture.

The buttons are very shiny and glossy, so I need to find a wall where the light can reflect in the buttons.

This is Clare’s picture.

Every time I look at these pictures it makes me smile and brings me happy memories of mum!

Project 12 – January 2012

Project 12 has finally arrived, and I can’t believe that I have managed to scrap my first pages already.

This is the first year for me trying the challenge, and I didn’t want to get behind. Last year I successfully completed project 365, but my photos are only stored neatly on my PC. I will get around to creating a photobook at some stage. This year i’m going to be creative and combine the photos on a monthly scrapbook page along with some journalling. I’m not very good at putting my words onto paper, but thought I would give it a go.

What do you think?

The original sketch was from January 2010.
It’s a pretty simple and a clean design but I love it all the same.

I was lucky as my sister was placing a scrapbook order, so I ordered some of the fab Bo Bunny AD LIB pages. They were just perfect for January.

I used white and grey Brazil basics for the background. The patterned paper was Bo Bunny AD LIB, Scribbles, Hoopla & Vertigo. The document sticker was also from AD LIB. The 2012 numbers were from a papermania docrafts. Everything else was from my stash, including using punches for the individual photo numbers.

I really enjoyed this month, and i’ve been extremely lucky with how easy everything has come together. I’m not expecting February to be as straight forward, but I’m looking forward to the challenge all the same.

Find Project 12 on website Scrapbook and Cards Today.

I can’t leave the month, without says thanks to Liz for the idea and my wonderful hubby who gave me time yesterday to scrap! x

Sunday 22nd January

What a fun Sunday.

We start the day meeting Tom’s school friend and head off to the the local swimming pool for some swimming practice.

We enjoy lunch before Tom plays on his Scalextric with his new cars Santa bought him for Christmas.

We head off to Pets at Home to buy Tom his first pet… 2 Goldfish.
Tom is sooooo excited. He tells the shop assistant which colour fish he would like. We chat on the journey home what the fishes names will be.

After settling the fish into their new home and giving them a touch of food, Tom can’t decide on the names. To give Tom some ideas we watch his new the Cars 2 movie that he has bought with his Christmas money. It was the first time I had watched it and its great. After all that still no ideas on the fish names.

Scrapbooking Day

On a dull and wet January day what else would you do but spend the day scrapbooking. I’ve managed to start 4 pages, with just a little bit of journalling left to complete. It’s been fab and i’ve really enjoyed it. It always helps to discuss my layouts with liz, we chat loads and it helps to get my creative side flowing.

We have discussed starting Project 12 (one layout a month, as shown on Davinie.blogspot.com & Scrapbookandcards.com) but we both have reservations. We are not sure on the new flexible layout. So after a quick chat and for our first January page we are going to try and give the 2010 January sketch a go. We like the sketches that have plenty of room for journalling.

I can’t wait.
Thanks for a fun filled day Liz, and thanks to the boys for looking after the kids, we couldn’t have done it without you! x

Walk Dovedale

15th January 2012

It was a cloudy day in Nottinghamshire so we set off for the derbyshire dales. By the time we arrived in at Dovedale luckily the cloud was starting to lift. The carpark was busy and alot of people had the same idea as us, but it was still great. Tom loved scrambling along the path by the river dove and crossing the stepping stones. We didn’t walk far but it was great to get out into the freshair!!

We are hoping this will be the first walk of many this year.

January 12th

Having a fab chat with dad through Skype. Its amazing to think he is the other side of the world. Its 8pm at home and 9am over there.

Tom finds it hard to believe that grandad is so far away and on a different timezone, yet he can see him on the webcam.
