Project Life 2013: Week 32 & Week 33

After thinking about December Daily it’s now back to Project life for a few more weeks….

Weeks 32 & 33 was still about the Summer and Holiday time.

The weather we are having this year is incredible. Its so sunny and warm you just want to spend as much of the time outside as your can.

We had a lovely day out with friends at the Robin Hood Festival in Sherwood Forecast. We enjoyed watching the Billy of Loxley show where the kids laughed and laughed.

We also watch the birds of pray in the Falconry show and action in the Jousting arena. the kids even got to meet Robin Hood and his Merry Men. The atmosphere was electric and lots of fun. A must for anyone wanting some fun in the summer, and something that I know we will go back and visit again.

At the end of the week we loaded the car and headed south to Sunny Cornwall for a weeks holiday at a beautiful campsite called Trevornik near Holywell Bay. It was a long day of travelling, but arrived, pitched the tent and relaxed. I’ve added an insert to show some of the lovely holiday photos.

Sunday was about chilling on the beach in Cornwall and testing out the campsite pool.

Monday Tom tried out the kids club on the site before we all venturing off for a walk along the coast and some geocaching.
Tuesday we visiting the beautiful Village of St Ives.
Wednesday was a bit chilly so Tom played in the pool and we visited the local NT.

Thursday we didn’t have much luck as the cinema and local pool were both full, but we were lucky to find the local beach of Porth instead.
Friday we had fun at the Oasis Fun Pool before heading back to the beach.

Favourite bit’s of the Holiday:
Phil – the Coastal Walk and Geocaching.
Tom – Oasis Water Fun Pool
Tracey – the seagull pinching Phil’s sandwich on St Ives seafront.

Saturday we headed over to our friend Nigel’s house to enjoy a couple of days in London.

Sunday was a full day of walking around London Zoo. It was lovely to see the old heritage parts of the zoo, mixed in the with more modern enclosures.  We were all surprised by the variety of the animals. One of the favourite being the butterfly enclosure where they were flying naturally.

Project Life 2013: Week 29

Its Birthday Week which is all systems go but lots and lots of fun.

There are only 2 days between Phil’s and Tom’s birthday’s so the week is full of cakes and parties. Birthday are so much fun. With all the activities and opening of presents I’ve added an insert to help include all the photos.
Double Page – party time all week.

Page 1

We celebrate Phil’s birthday with take out pizza, eaten outside as it’s so warm.  I think the last time it was this warm in July was 7 years ago. As Phil is at work, Tom opens a couple of his birthday presents, but waits until after school for the rest. He’s got a big smile when I take him to school with his birthday badge on.

Page 2
Tom’s cricket birthday party is on his birthday so as soon as we pick Tom up from school we are straight back out to meet his friends. Tom’s cousin even came to visit to join in. Tom and his friends loved the party with games and a cricket match at the end. Tom was happy as his team won. I have some fab friends who helped me with the party food. I couldn’t have done it without them. I was really pleased with the cricket cake that I made, and Tom loved it too.

After the party, Tom showered before opening up his many many presents.
On Saturday it was Toms last Beaver Camp. He didn’t make it through the night as he was scared, luckily we hadn’t been drinking when we went out for a meal so we could pick him up. Sunday we went out Geocaching .

Project Life 2013: Week 26, 27 & 28

Where has the summer gone – it’s been so lovely and sunny this year in the UK that I know we have not wanted to stay indoors for any of it. We truly have had a fabulous Summer Holiday.

I had done really well catching up just before the holidays and now look I am 11 weeks behind – ouch!!! Good job I am writing this after having a marathon scrapbook session at the weekend or I think I may have cried.

Right where shall I start……

My handy hints for helping to stay in control and focused during this time are:
  • I keep my album handy with post-it notes shows which is the week.
  • I add tickets etc as I go.
  • I have used my sketch book to document the daily events and draw sketches.
  • I printed all the 4×6 photos at our local Tesco’s again which has helped speed the process up loads.

Week 26

Double Page – This week has mainly been chilling out at home and the start
of Wimbledon fortnight, I can’t wait.
Page 1 – Lots of tennis this week, which means the boys playing/working at home.
I love it when Tom gets his BIG box of cars out and starts playing.
We’ve also started to plan for the Summer Holidays and what Tom would
like to do over the 6 weeks.

Page 2 – We have chilled at home and enjoyed the sunshine and BBQ’s for tea.
Friday it rained and rained. Somehow it stopped just in time for me to watch T20 cricket to be played Notts Outaws v Leicestershire Foxes. Tom loved playing
kwik cricket again for Hucknall. The Sunday photo has not come
out very well, when I have printed the photo I’ve managed to chop
Tom’s head off (1 photo to be re-printed I think)
 – we had a fun day Geocaching in Bestwood Park.

Week 27

Double Page –  Where has July sprung from? This year is going by so so so quickly.

Page 1 – A quiet week at home. Tom loved making a box full of cookies at School.
We also nipped to Ikea for tea and shopping after school.
Tom jumped into a bed at Ikea to see if we would notice – very funny.
Friday was watching a Tennis match to see if British Andy Murray  would
make the final, nail biting but some excellent tennis played.

Page 2 – Saturday was visiting our friend Pam and having cuddles with her new
Grandson – Ellis. He is a really sweet baby and was very well behaved, well he did
sleep the whole day! Tom enjoyed playing with the boys as usual in the garden all day
in the beautiful sunshine. Sunday was the final of Wimbledon
where the boys played in the garden and I sat in front of the TV.
We all watched the end of the game to see
Andy Murray win – Bring it On, and Well Played Andy :) :)

Week 28

Double Page – Its been a busy week with teeth falling out and school activities. Unfortunately the tooth fairy was very busy and didn’t make it to pick
Tom’s tooth up in time the first night.
Tom decided he didn’t want to take a chance the second night, so he
wrote her a letter – one of my fav pictures, and nicely written Tom.

Page 1 – This week Tom has been to Carsington Water on a trip with school.
Wednesday was Y6 production of Oliver, Tom loved joining in by singing in the choir. It was very good. Tom is also getting ready for his birthday by writing invites to his friends.

Page 2 – With Phil at work and Tom and I awake early we made it to the Next
sale on Saturday. Tom got lots and lots of lovely new clothes. It was so warm in town, that
afterwards Tom stripped off and ran around in the fountains in the Market Square.
Sunday we met my sister-in-law and had fun morning Ice Skating,
afterwards we went for a picnic at Wollaton Hall.

Project Life 2013: Week 25

I am catching up slowly, only 4 more weeks to go. I’m so grateful for recording key events in my project life book.

Week 25 has come together nicely.

The weather has been so nice these past couple of weeks. We are totally enjoying eating tea outside in the evenings and a few ice cream treats too.

On Saturday in readiness for the Family Notts Bike Ride, it was cold, dark and raining!!!! But this didn’t stop the boys. I want to give both of my boys loads of praise for raising £250 for the 3 charities involved. Well Done to you both and for riding the 10.5 miles. I wonder what the next challenge will be for you? (After taking the picture of page 1 I’ve moved the top right photo and switched it with the bottom right. It looks more even now).

Sunday was also about spending time playing with Grace and celebrating Granny’s birthday.

Project Life 2013: Week 24

I love action packed weeks and Week 24 was just that!

Monday is Beaver Night, and the kids were painting their homemade robot’s. Tom is very proud of his and couldn’t bring himself to paint it. It is now being used as a moneybox.

Tuesday saw Tom’s school (Fir) class perform their class assembly. It showcased a lot of their work and knowledge they had gained over the past year in class. Tom has a part at the beginning welcoming us to their assembly. He looked very proud. He also loved learning the songs.

Wednesday saw them off to the Nottingham Tennis Centre for coaching. They came home very proud of their new racquets and balls.

Thursday we enjoyed Cornflake Tart for pudding. It’s not something I would buy in a restaurant, but it’s one of the Nottingham puddings/traditions that I am getting used to.

Friday was Thomas’s friend Jessica’s 5th birthday. Another sunny day saw us enjoying a BBQ with our friends.

Saturday included a bit of hanging out and housework at home while the boys went on a bike ride.

Sunday was Fathers Day. Phil has breakfast in bed, followed by Geochacing in Arnold. We found a few, but some were very difficult to find – we will go back soon and try again. Lots of fun. :)

My favourite picture of the week is the daddy and son hug on Fathers Day. I love the fact that Toms favourite cuddly toy is also in the picture.

My other favourite picture was of the blue tit’s nesting in our house. We had seen them on the bird table and fence but they are very nervous birds. To get the photos I spent an hour hiding under our washing line, waiting patiently. I wonder how many babies they had?

Project Life 2013: Week 23

Another week completed I am catching up slowly.

Week 23 saw the official start of Summer – our first BBQ and evening meal enjoyed outside on the patio. Days just don’t get much better than this. Our week was pretty normal – we are just enjoying more sunshine. At the moment I’m also loving the flowers and baby birds in the garden.

Project Life 2013: Week 22

It’s the May Half Term holidays. We had so much fun in Norfolk camping this year it was really, really hard picking out my favourite pictures from each day. I have included a little picture and some writing about each different adventure.
Monday was Bank Holiday so we headed to the beach at Wells next the Sea.
Tuesday was the first cloudy day, we but still had fun at Sherringham.
Wednesday our friends went home so we had a look around a wet Cromer before taking a 4 mile walk along the beach and back, then enjoying fish and chips on the seafront.

Thursday was geocaching, and a walk around the Felbrigg Hall National Trust estate.
Friday was a fun day at Thrigby Hall Zoo.
It a small wildlife park, but very friendly and no rushing around.
Tom loved the baby monkeys and was amazed by the size of the crocodiles.
Saturday was homeward bound where the weather was warm, so washing time.
Sunday was fun in the garden enjoying the sunshine again.
Tom also had his first game of kwik cricket which he loved.

I’ve included a page with leaflets like the campsite and Thrigby Hall, but I would be willing to take this out if my album gets too full.

Useful facts of the week……..
My week goes from Monday to Sunday, this week: 27th May to 2nd June 2013.
I have managed to catch up on the last 3 weeks. See Week 20 & Week 21. I know I am behind but I am trying to give myself some time to try and catch up a little more. I even saw Tom having a look at the 3 weeks I’ve just completed and commentating on the photos.. That’s when I know I am loving this. :) :)

Project Life 2013: Week 21

Half Term holidays start this week – so lets go.

Page 1 shows that spring has arrived. Tom has a sleep over at school,
but comes home early as he doesn’t want to leave his mummy and daddy alone at home.
Our new camping mattress arrives – it’s fab. :)

Page 2 is the start of our holidays – yehhhhh.

Saturday is spent travelling to the campsite in Norfolk (Woodhill Park near Cromer) and exploring the area. There is something special about spending time at the beach watching the waves. I loved it on Saturday evening as the boys went running down to the beach. First they rolled up their trousers, then took them off all-together to jump the waves. Magic.

Sunday was a day in Great Yarmouth and the beach. We even found a local park, the kids loved exploring the different play equipment.
For tea we enjoyed a lovely BBQ back at the campsite.

When the sun set the views over the campsite was lovely.  Me and Phil came here about 10 years ago and we would definitely come back again.

Project Life 2013: Week 20

Week 20 fun and activities….

Page 1 shows a bit of the day to day. I especially love the Granny Moore cuddle.
Despite the lovely sunshine, a few heavy rain showers were about.

Page 2 shows us yet another busy weekend. I loved celebrating my friends
40th birthday, where does the time go?
Phil also visited Liverpool for the day on Sunday while Tom and I finished off homework.
