Canal, mere's and wood all interesting. Tunnel after '3' inviting but crossed road over top instead. Discussed large mushroom on floor in wood with couple between '9' and '10'.

The Mere, Ellesmere

Hazards:
At '9' no canal towpath. Two possible options
Option 1, from bridge walk in fields on opposide to Cole Mere to bridge No 54.
Option 2, From bridge walk in fields on same side of the canal as Cole Mere and join lakeside path to bridge 55.
At '10' take obvious track, bearing right towards Mere on right onto lane where lady was brushing road. Care at road '12' to '13'.
