Following breakfast at Wetherspoon's in Warwick Market Square, Den drove us to snowy Wroxall Village, the start of the walk. This was the reverse walk of the previous year's walk 783, on 29 December 2009. It was a short distance along School Lane to a footpath passing the school and leading to the main Birmingham road by the entrance to Wroxall Abbey. We went through the gates and into the snowy Wroxall Estate Park. The many patches of undisturbed yellow snow lead to lots of discussions. We walked past Wroxall Abbey House, Church and St Leonard's Priory ruins to a path leading directly to Case Lane, near The Case is Altered public house and memories of last year's walk and refreshments. We saw typical winter snowy scenes of leafless mature trees in the mist and snow, very picturesque. We came across some clear deer tracks near Mousley Hill Farm. It was a short walk along Quarry Lane leading to Rowington Green Lane where we passed lots of other walkers going in the opposite direction. Leaving the lane we took the track past Lyon's Farm which lead directly to Baddesley Clinton Church. We made an unscheduled diversion to Baddesley Clinton National Trust property for coffee but the premises were only open for the 'Lyons' Charity Organisation sponsored walk. This explained the high number of walkers passing us in the opposite direction. Ken, Laz and Den met a 'Lyons' worker who was a fellow WCC employee. We returned to the church and onto Hay Wood where we met Ivan Wilson and family. We took each other's photograph with my camera before we continued to Birmingham Road, passing Wood Corner Farm. A short, careful walk along the main road came to Abbey Farm and a very well- blessed bull. We passed the farm to a track leading to School Lane and Den's car at the end of the walk. We travelled back to Wetherspoon's in Warwick Market Square for a burger and beer, which went down a treat. Another very successful Cousins' Walk.
