I parked on Main Street, next to the toilets. There was no time to visit the harbour as I was too short of daylight, but it is recommended from Main Street to take the cul de sac, then the footpath shortly after Inkerman Arms public house. It was an easy gravel track besides 'ponds' to '3'. From '3' take 'Green Road between field of pebbles and 'pond'. I continued ahead, bearing left on a good track past dwellings to 'T' junction at '4'. From '4' I took the right overgrown path to stile and field at '5'. There was a multitude of scattering rabbits which I managed to avoid. There was a complete contrast between rabbits and sheep, where the sheep almost completely ignore the passing walkers. I took the dog leg track from '6' to '7' and picked up a good track past Camber Castle. I would recommend a visit to the castle provided it is during 'office hours.' From the castle I took the good track to '9' rather than the minor tracks which scattered in several directions. It was very difficult to change from one track to another because of the multitude of deep and wide ditches running in all directions. I missed point '9' and had problems getting to point '10'. I had to 'back track' a short way, but I was lucky to find a convenient bridge and gate. At bridge '12' there was a loch to re-strain the salt water from entering the river at high tide. It was an interesting and varied walk to a windmill which I highly recommend, including a walk into Rye. It was too dark for me to take any photos of the yachts on the inlet in Rye. It was a steady walk along the road back to Rye harbour and car, past many different types of industrial buildings. This walk deserves plenty of time to stop and enjoy the scenery and wildlife. It's a completely flat walk with only the odd mound of pebbles.
