General:
Breakfast, ablusions and 'boots on' (any order) at Strensham Services on the M5 motorway near Malvern Hills before continuing on the Coach to Dursley in the Cotswolds. The 'A' Group started the ascent from Woodmancote at 9:15am through the wooded slopes of Breakheart Hill. Soon lost height as we decended past public house into Waterley Bottom and along lane to Millend Village. Continued along lanes past Pitt Court Village towards North Nibley. Turned off lane (polyanthus plants in hedgerow) upto Nibley Knoll and Tyndale Monument. Rare photo of Bill & Jack in trees just below monument. Good view from monument across Severn Valley towards the new and old Severn Bridges. Steady walk to Wotton Hill and another good view overlooking Wotton-under-edge. Continued along steep slopes of Wotton Hill and Coombe Hill to Tyley Bottom. Another long steady ascent to top of hill by Communications Tower. Slow descent to Ozleworth Park past 'B' Group having lunch on some recently cut logs. We continued past Ozleworth House and Church to lunch on slopes of Ozleworth Bottom, surrounded by daffodiles and snowdrops. Wonderful sight in the pleasant sunshine. Proceded into bottom and up the opposite slopes to top of Hen's Cliff where we caught up with the 'B' Group. We were all very 'EXPOSED' to the wind on the hill top. Both groups continued past Burden Court into Tresham Village. More excellent views across Ozleworth Bottom to Wortley Hill while descending from Tresham village. Steady walk into Alderley Village past impressive stables with an 'Exposed' water fountain. Memories of Belgian Boy Fountain. Leaders added a extra 'loop' between Alderley and Hillersley along the Cotswolds Way and the lane from Lower Kilcot, to ensure the bar staff had sufficient time to cool the beer. First pint at 4:20pm. Thanks to Bill & Jack for another excellent day on the hills.
www.streepmap.co.uk, start Woodmancote Dursley 375895/197650, finish Hillesley Village 376930/189660, via Tyndale Monument 374405/195610. (Use Zoom).

Hazards: Take care while walking along narrow Cotswolds lanes. There's probably a tractor around the next corner. Also take care on the steep slippery slopes during muddy times. Most of all, be aware of the Murrow Mile. A moderate walk can easily turn into a moderately strenuous walk.
