Description:
Long drive from the M54, hence late start for the walk. Parked car on side of road just before pub at end of the lane. Lots of sightseers at foot of waterfall as usual. Care required for correct direction and path from waterfall and all the way to the lead mines. Also at '10' while crossing the head of the valley to the track, care required because of the very wet area, especially after the rain. Excellent views from 'F' of the surrounding area and the waterfall. Could not find the castle site at 'G' Much further to '12' than I expected, but eventually found. Counldnot find way around first farm, but farmer at second farm assured me that the path and the stiles were there. Stream at '14' can easily be missed. Steep descent to the river. Take special care while walking along narrow road back to car. Traffic is heavy due to the number of visitors to the waterfall. No reception to phone Sylvia at the end of the walk.
