Points of Interest and LINKS:
AA Walks Elderwater Skelwith Force
Slate Mill Loughrigg Tarn Skelwith Bridge
Description:
Parked just off the A593 on road to Langdale next to Slate Mill. We started a point 8 on the map. Walked through Skelwith Bridge and up the riverbank to Skelwith Force. Continued up-stream towards Elterwater with good views on the Langdale Moutains head. Fooled around on the rocks at edge of Elterwater. Walk very popular along this stretch o the four miles circular journey. We all enjoyed an ice cream at Elterwater Village. Relaxing walk along the country land to Loughrigg Tarn. Met Moutain bike enthusiasts cycling up steep lane as we walked down to Dkelwith Bridge and back to the cards. Drove along B5343 to Elterwater Common for a picnic next to car park. Tea with the Middletons at Windermere campsite. Walked to the top of hill at dusk.

Hazards:
Care required at '14', the way is not obvious, bue continue towards the Langdale Moutains. Dangerous section between '1' and '2' due to heavy traffic with no footpath. Walk on the roadside facing the oncoming traffic. Route not obvious from '4' to '5', but follow your nose and the way will become reassured.
