Points of Interest and LINKS:
AA Walks Balmacara Bay Balmacara Estate
Description:
Excellent views oof Loch Alsh and the surrounding mountains. Jackie and Clare visited Dornie Castle while I walked. Sylvia and Keith waited in the car. After the walk we crossed with the car to the Isle of Skye on the ferry. We drove across the island to see the Cullin Mountains. It was difficult to see in places so I climbed a grassy bank and lots of awkward fences to see the mountains in a 'horseshoe' shape sloping down to the sea.

Location Map: - www.streetmap.co.uk
At the west end of Balmacara pass the oil tanks at the beginning of the harbour , then turn right . Car Park £1.20 per day, but free during the evening.

Hazards:
No child's memorial or monument found, although I took a little time out of look. Points '5' to '15' difficult to find in many places. The viewpoint '9' not found, no gate or stile but a new National Trust fence at '10' only just passable as very overgrown.
