Points of Interest and LINKS:
West Midlands Golf Club Barston Village
Description:
We parked in West Midlands golf club car park and walked into the complex to investigate the facilities. Although we considered a coffee we decided not to delay the walk. So we continued past the lake's fountain and the fishermen enjoying a quiet and challenging sport, to Marsh Lane and Hampton in Arden village. When we reached the High Street we turned left to the bend and immediately left again down Belle Vue Terrace. Near the end of the terrace we turned left through a kissing gate, crossed two fields to another kissing gate, then turned right (south), passing a field of alpacas, towards Barston village where we passed Northfields Farm to the west. We eventually reached Oak Lane leading to Barston Lane in Barston village. We turned left through the attractive and quiet village, passing the Bull's Head public house and Barston Hall. Immediately after the hall we forked left back towards West Midlands Golf Club, passing Marsh Farm to the east. As we walked past the River Blythe we reached the golf complex and car park, the end of the walk with the boyz. We hope there'll be many more walks to come.
